How to rename WD Elements hard disk?

I purchased this external hard disk by WD Elements. It’s called My Passport Ultra. When I connected it to my Mac Computer, it mounted the disk with a name called “Untitled”.

There was no option to rename it. Usually folders in Mac can be renamed by right clicking on them or by selecting them and pressing the enter key. That didn’t work here. So I tried to find a way in the disk utility. Still nothing!

It turns out, if you have to rename your hard disk, you’ll need to install a software from WD Elements. So visit their official site and go in the downloads section.

In the downloads section, select your product and they’ll display a list of available downloads. I downloaded “WD Utilities 2.0.4.8” and installed it.

That allows me to rename my external hard disk and do other stuff like erase the drive, etc.
